Video Game Questionnaire #3

21. How old were you when you first played a video game?

I don’t remember! Maybe 10?

22. If you could immerse yourself in any game for one day, which game would it be? What would you do?

The Elder Scrolls hands down.

23. Biggest disappointment you’ve had in gaming?

The ending of Mass Effect 3

24. Casual, Hardcore, or in the middle?

In the middle leaning toward the hardcore side.

25. Be honest; have you ever used cheats (like ActionReplay or Gameshark)?

Oh yeah, though I always beat the game first before fiddling with cheats. Makes the second playthrough more interesting.

26. Handheld or console?

PC! Just kidding- I enjoy all three platforms.

27. Has there ever been a moment that has made you cry?

Probably, but none are coming to mind right now.

28. Which character’s clothes do you wish you owned the most?

Male Shep’s leather jacket

29. Which is more important, gameplay or story?

Well, both should be important because one can ruin the other, but I do like games with a good story.

30. A game that hasn’t been localized in your country that you think should be localized?

Monster Hunter 4

Video Game Questionnaire #2

11. Hardest game you’ve played?

Dark Souls!

12. Shortest time you’ve beaten a game in?

I don’t remember exactly how long, but the single player/story mode of Soul Calibur V was really short. Like, too short. As far as full length games, I think I played through The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess pretty dang quick. I try not to blast through games though- it’s more enjoyable that way.

13. A game you were the most excited for when it wasn’t released yet?

Skyrim…and Civilization V… and Pokemon X

14. A game you think would be cool if it had voice acting?

I don’t know… pretty much all of the games I play are voice acted in some way or another.

15. Which two games do you think would make an awesome crossover?

Either Dragon Age and The Elder Scrolls, or Red Dead Redemption and Mass Effect (space cowboys!)

16. Character you’ve hated most? From what game?

There’s plenty of characters that have pissed me off, but the one I hated the most was a character from Dragon Age 2, who I shall not name because spoilers.

17. What game do you never tell people you play?

I don’t really tell people I play Don’t Starve from time to time. It’s not because I’m ashamed of it or anything, it’s just that I don’t know anyone else who plays it.

18. A game you wish your friends knew about?

The Elder Scrolls games

19. Which game do you think deserves a revival?

Well, I was going to say Zoo Tycoon, but they just made a new one for next gen consoles… it’s ok, but the lack of animals/variety makes it not as fun. DLC packs of new animals should fix that. Another one would be D&D based games like Baldur’s Gate or Icewind Dale.

20. What was the first video game you ever played?

Video Game Questionnaire #1

1. Do you try to stay away from walkthroughs?

I try to stay away from walkthroughs most of the time. I only consult one if I’m hopelessly lost in a level.

2. Company you’re always loyal to?

Pretty much just Bethesda and BioWare, though there are other companies that make quite a few games I like.

3. Best game you’ve ever played?

Honestly, I want to say Skyrim, but the only reason for that is because of the modding community, so the best game I’ve ever played out of the box would probably be Mass Effect 2. That or Bioshock.

4. Worst game you’ve ever played?

I’m very picky about games, so I try really hard to research them before I buy to see if I’ll really like it or not. But the worst game I remember playing was Lost Oddysey.

5. A popular series/game you just can’t get into no matter how much you try?

For me that would hands down be the Grand Theft Auto games. I played them for a couple hours and then got bored. Not worth the $60 for me.

6. A game that’s changed you the most?

The game that’s changed me the most is Morrowind, but not because of the story or anything. Because of finding out how to use the console commands in Morrowind, it got me into PC gaming, and computers in general, and sparked a love of technology. Now I’m in school for computer programming, and it’s partially thanks to Morrowind and trying to cheat as a 14 year old boy. :)

7. A game you’ll never forget?

Bioshock. While many people say that they saw the end coming (whether that’s actually true or not, I don’t know), it totally blindsided me. Such a good twist, and such a good game!

8. Best soundtrack?

Skyrim hands down, but with the DLC tracks too! Metroid Prime and Zelda are also really good.

9. A game you turn your volume off every time you play it?

I do that with Minecraft every once and a while if I want to listen to my own music while playing, but that’s about it.

10. A game you’ve completely given up on?

Gears of War 2. It’s pretty fun, but I lost interest at one point and have never gone back to finish it.

New Minecraft Ideas

So I play Minecraft quite a bit (Not as much as Skyrim, but hey, I don’t play anything as much as that- not even Civilization V!), and since getting the beta version of the game a couple years ago, I’ve come up with some ideas for new items/features in the game that I think would be cool additions. These are the ideas I’ve come up with (with some help from friends, my brother, and a bit from the interwebs). I know that some of these (a lot of these actually) are already implemented in mods, but it would be nice for them to be in-game so we don’t have to install as many mods, as well as to see the Mojang team’s take on them. Let me know what you think!
